On this date, 24 June 1954, a doctor, political prisoner and Catholic dissident Silvester Krčméry was unjustly convicted of alleged treason, after being tortured.

On Monday, 27 March 2023, the 21st Review Conference of Foreign and European Policy of the Slovak Republic was held at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
On Monday, 5 December 2022, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic held talks with his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, in Bratislava. The partners discussed current challenges on the bilateral, regional and European agenda, including the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, energy security and migration.

Vo veku 82 rokov zomrel bývalý minister zahraničných vecí SR Eduard Kukan.
Štátna tajomníčka Ministerstva zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Ingrid Brocková dnes (10. novembra 2021) prijala chorvátskeho veľvyslanca na Slovensku Aleksandra Heinu.
Minister zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Ivan Korčok sa zúčastnil na 14. ročníku medzinárodnej konferencie Dubrovnik Forum 2021. V sobotu 10. júla 2021 vystúpil v rámci panela venovaného komplexnej téme geopolitického výhľadu obdobia po pandémii.

Do skladov Civilnej ochrany Chorvátskej republiky v Jastrebarskom dorazila v noci z 30. na 31. decembra zásielka humanitárnej pomoci, ktorú Slovensko poslalo na pomoc oblastiam najviac postihnutým zemetrasením.
Slovensko promptne reaguje na silné zemetrasenie, ktoré v utorok 29. decembra postihlo územie Chorvátska a dnes (30. decembra 2020) vypravuje materiálnu humanitárnu pomoc pre obyvateľov najviac postihnutých obcí Sisak a Petrinja, ktoré dnes ráno zaznamenali ďalšie otrasy pôdy.
Štátna tajomníčka Ministerstva zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Ingrid Brocková prijala dnes (5. júna 2020) predsedu Svetového združenia Slovákov v zahraničí Vladimíra Skalského. Spoločne diskutovali o otázkach ďalšieho budovania a rozvoja vzťahov Slovenskej republiky so Slovákmi žijúcimi v zahraničí.

"Slovensko sa bude aj naďalej angažovať v odovzdávaní skúseností z prístupového procesu krajinám západného Balkánu a Východného partnerstva, nakoľko vízia členstva v Európskej únii ostáva hlavným motorom pozitívnych zmien v krajinách s eurointegračnými ambíciami", uviedol štátny tajomník Ministerstva zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí SR Lukáš Parízek na výročnom zasadnutí ministrov zahraničných vecí členských krajín Stredoeurópskej iniciatívy (SEI) v Splite.
Zhodnotenie súčasnej úrovne bilaterálnych vzťahov, skúsenosti Slovenska s predsedníctvom v Rade EÚ, ale aj aktuálne otázky agendy EÚ, vrátane rozširovania a vývoja situácie v krajinách západného Balkánu, boli dnes (19. februára) hlavnými témami pracovnej návštevy štátneho tajomníka Ministerstva zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Slovenskej republiky Ivana Korčoka v Záhrebe, ktorá sa uskutočnila na pozvanie ministerky zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitostí Chorvátskej republiky Marii Pejčinović-Burić.
Európska perspektíva západného Balkánu, slovenské predsedníctvo v Rade Európskej únie ale aj bilaterálne vzťahy, vrátane krajanov či letnej turistickej sezóny patrili medzi témy rokovaní ministra zahraničných vecí a európskych záležitosti SR Miroslava Lajčáka s chorvátskym rezortným partnerom Mirom Kovačom."Chorvátsko je krajinou, s ktorou máme historicky bezproblémové vzťahy, náš potenciál však nie je naplno využitý, najmä v ekonomickej oblasti," povedal M. Lajčák s tým, že počas rokovaní obaja partneri posúdili možnosti užšej kooperácie najmä v oblasti energetiky.
Dubrovnik (11 July) – Energy security, migration, current international policy issues, as well as the upcoming Slovak Presidency in the Council of the EU were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák and several counterparts during a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Croatian Forum in Dubrovnik.
Slovak diplomacy has watched internal political developments in Croatia with interest as well as the campaign before the presidential election that was won by Kolinda Grabar Kitarović. Croatia, as the newest EU member state and at the same time part of former Yugoslavia, has a unique position and the potential to influence the internal societal processes of the entire region in favour of European prospects. This is what was discussed today (21 January 2015) during the meeting between Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and Nenad Stazić, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, who is visiting Slovakia.
In Trebinje today (July 11, 2014), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák met with member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Nebojša Radmanović at his invitation. In the discussion they broached current developments in the country following the disastrous May floods. Radmanović thanked Slovakia for the prompt material humanitarian aid it provided, and he also thanked Lajčák for confirming his participation as the head of Slovak diplomacy at the donor conference also on Bosnia and Herzegovina to be held next week in Brussels.
