Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok can superlegalize, verify the authenticity of signatures, photocopies and translations of documents for their use in the Slovak Republic. Embassy is not responsible for contents of the verified documents.
Superlegalization
Superlegalization is a higher authentication of a public document which confirms that the document was issued by the relevant authority. Superlegalization is being done by verification of the signature / official stamp / official seal on the document.
Certain documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, criminal record characters, university diplomas etc.) that are to be used and submitted in the Slovakia for various reasons (eg. marriage, application for a residence etc.) are required to be superlegalized.
The original issued in English must be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand: Legalization Division, Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 123 Chaengwattana Rd., Tungsonghong, Laksi, Bangkok 10212, Tel: 02-575-1056, 02-981 -7171. Reservation is possible to make online.
Fee for super-legalization of one MFA stamp is 30 EUR. We accept only cash in THB due to exchange rate.
NOTE
The consular department of the embassy informs that has ended accepting legalization stamp SEEN AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS for the further super-legalization on mutual agreement for indefinite period.
The consular department of the embassy informs that all documents with a legalization stamp TRUE COPY will require to show the original document as well. If necessary, the embassy will verify its authenticity of the original one through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, which may take several days.
Signatures
Certification of the authenticity of the signature at the consular department of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok certifies that the applicant signed the document with his own hand, or that he recognized the handwritten signature as his own. When certifying the authenticity of a signature, the personal presence of the person whose signature is to be verified is required.
Fee for verification of one signature is 14 EUR. We accept only cash in THB due to exchange rate.
If the applicant is not signing the document at the Embassy of the Slovak republic in presence of consul, the signature can be verified by a Thailand (or Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar) notary public, and afterwards legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand (or Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar) and superlegalized by Embassy of the Slovak republic in Bangkok.
Photocopies
By verification of photocopy the Slovak Economic and Cultural Office certifies, that photocopy of document is identical with the original of the document. Application for verification of photocopy should consist of:
1. original document,
2. photocopy of document,
3. fee – 14 EUR per each page. We accept only cash in THB due to exchange rate.
Translations
The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok certifies only translations of documents issued by a foreign country from English into Slovak for the purposes of consular service in the area of citizenship and civil registration. The Embassy itself is not providing translation and interpretation services.

Upozorňujeme, že Veľvyslanectvo SR v Bangkoku neosvedčuje ani nesuperlegalizuje preklady úradných dokumentov z thajského do anglického jazyka, keďže nie je možné overiť oprávnenosť osôb vyhotovujúcich preklad dokladov podľa ustanovenia § 126 ods. 4 zákona č. 404/2011 Z.z. o pobyte cudzincov a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov v znení neskorších predpisov.
Dokumenty overené na thajskom ministerstve zahraničných vecí je potrebné predložiť na vyššie overenie, tzv. superlegalizáciu na Veľvyslanectve SR v Bangkoku vo vopred dohodnutom termíne.
Správny poplatok za jeden úkon vyššieho overenia je 20 eur (od 1. 4. 2024 je poplatok 30 eur) a hradí sa priamo v hotovosti v miestnej mene THB pri podaní žiadosti.
V súlade so znením zákona NR SR č. 270/1995 Z. z. o štátnom jazyku musia byť listiny preložené do slovenského jazyka, z čoho vyplýva, že všetky cudzojazyčné doklady, ktoré majú byť použité na Slovensku musia byť opatrené overeným úradným prekladom do slovenčiny. Preklad musí byť vyhotovený oficiálnym tlmočníkom respektíve prekladateľom, ktorý je zapísaný v zozname tlmočníkov a prekladateľov, ktorý vedie Ministerstvo spravodlivosti SR.

Konzulárne oddelenie veľvyslanectva upozorňuje, že ukončilo superlegalizáciu legalizačnej pečiatky SEEN AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS vydávanej Ministerstvom zahraničných vecí Thajska na základe vzájomnej dohode na neurčitú dobu.
Konzulárne oddelenie veľvyslanectva upozorňuje, že pri predložení dokumentu s legalizačnou pečiatkou TRUE COPY bude požadovať predloženie aj originálu dokumentu. V prípade potreby bude veľvyslanectvo preverovať jeho pravosť prostredníctvom Ministerstva zahraničných vecí Thajska čo môže trvať aj niekoľko dní.
