Appointment to visit the Consular Section

Appointment to visit the Consular Section 

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok announces that in order to ensure efficient processing of the requests for consular services at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, it is necessary to request an appointment to visit the Consular Section only by email to cons.bangkok@mzv.sk. 

We do not give appointments over the phone. Appointments are non-transferable and it is not possible to change the reserved name. You must respond to the proposed date within 7 working days. Otherwise, the proposed appointment may be cancelled.

The application for an appointment must state: 

  • Name and surname of the applicant (or authorized person) 
  • The type of requested consular service 
  • Number of applications or documents to be submitted 
  • Indicative date (waiting time varies from 1 - 3 months depending on the type of consular service)

Due to the high number of national visa applications related to employment or business in Slovakia and related long waiting period (exceeding 3 months), the Slovak Embassy decided to adjust the rules for accepting these types of applications as follows: 

  • Maximum number of applications related with employment in Slovakia received per week: 4 
  • Maximum weekly number of applications received from persons outside the accreditation countries: 1 
  • Maximum monthly number of applications related with employment received from one person, company or employer: 2 
  • Slovak Embassy answers on request for appointment: last week of each month 
  • Confirmation of proposed appointment dates from the applicant: within 7 working days 
  • The Embassy reserves possible changes to the number of applications received depending on the availability of appointments. 

Due to the high number of temporary residence applications related to employment or business in Slovakia and related long waiting period (exceeding 3 months), the Slovak Embassy decided to adjust the rules for accepting these types of applications as follows: 

  • Maximum number of applications related with employment in Slovakia received per week: 2 
  • Maximum monthly number of applications related with employment received from one person, company or employer: 2 
  • Slovak Embassy answers on request for appointment: last week of each month 
  • Confirmation of proposed appointment dates from the applicant: within 7 working days 
  • The Embassy reserves possible changes to the number of applications received depending on the availability of appointments. 

The Consular Section of the Slovak Embassy in Bangkok announces that due to the high number of requests for legalization services (superlegalization, signature verification, copy verification, translation verification) and the related long waiting period, the Slovak Embassy decided to adjust the rules for accepting this type of applications as follows: 

  • Maximum number of documents received for legalization from one person: 5 
  • Maximum monthly number of requests for legalization services received from one person, company or employer: 2 
  • The Embassy reserves possible changes to the number of applications received depending on the availability of appointments. 

 

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok recommends informing about the waiting time for appointment date in advance. Prepare necessary documents after you have agreed appointment at the Embassy. Due to the fact that after the release of pandemic measures, the interest in all types of consular services has increased, the appointments are being met very quickly and the capacity options in the Consular Section are limited. Requests for appointment date more than tree month in advance are not accepted by the Consular Sectiont. Applicants without an appointment will not be accepted. 

We ask consular applicants to adhere to the agreed appointment and agreed services. In case of a problem to come for the agreed date or the need to change the date or the consular service, the Consular Section requests that applicants inform this fact as soon as possible. The released date will be offered to another queing applicant. 

Application for a visa

A visa application can only be submitt in person at the Consular Section due to the scanning of biometric features. This also applies to applicants from accredited countries, namely Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. 

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok announces that hand over visas is only possible in person or through an authorized person at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Bangkok. The consular department does not send passports with visas to the recipients via postal or courier companies unless the handover protocol is signed and postage is paid in advance. 

Consular fees

Consular fees are collect only in cash in accordance with the consular tariff converted into Thai Baht (THB) according a monthly exchange rate. Fees cannot be send via bank transfer and cannot be pay by credit card at the Slovak Embassy in Bangkok.

Concert. to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Slovak diplomacy – a gala event of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic took place in the Winter Riding Hall of Bratislava Castle on Thursday, 29 June 2023.

On 24 June, the Slovak Republic commemorates the Day of Remembrance and Respect to Victims of the Communist Regime - all those wrongly convicted and imprisoned between 1948 and 1989. On this date, 24 June 1954, a doctor, political prisoner and Catholic dissident Silvester Krčméry was unjustly convicted of alleged treason, after being tortured.
